Last Day to take the Capital Project Planning Survey
STRONGER SCHOOLS = STRONGER COMMUNITIES: We want to hear from you!
Over the past several years, the Mahopac Central School District has taken great strides to improve and expand upon the academic program offered to students. Now, the district must also focus on the community’s investment in our school buildings to support our students for college and career-readiness.
Capital improvements under consideration include:
STEAM & Science Instructional Upgrades
Music & Performing Arts Upgrades
Renovating Libraries to Multimedia Centers
Safety & Security Improvements
Athletic Fields & Facilities
Together, we can develop a plan to address critical issues in our buildings to ensure a safe and strong learning environment for our students. The Board of Education and administration would like the community’s input as it begins to develop this plan.
Please take a brief moment to take the survey, CLICK HERE – this will be open for community input until Friday, December 14.

The flu season will be upon us soon. There may be confusion as to what the “flu” really means. Some may use the term to describe the common cold, vomiting and diarrhea (stomach bug), or most accurately, the viral respiratory infection caused by the influenza virus.
Infection with the influenza virus can lead to serious complications. The best protection against influenza is by getting your annual flu vaccination. Please contact your local pharmacy or health care provider to schedule a flu vaccination if you have not already done so.
We encourage our students, family members, and employees to monitor their health status and stay home and/or seek medical attention if feeling ill.
If your child is not feeling well, we ask that you follow the protocols below:
Check their temperature before taking any fever-reducing medication;
Keep them home if the temperature is 100(F) or higher;
Keep your child home until the fever is gone for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication; and
If there is vomiting or diarrhea, stay home until symptoms resolve; and
Notify the school of your child’s absence and inform the nurse of any specific diagnosis.
Practice proper hand hygiene:
Wash hands thoroughly or use hand sanatizer, especially after coughing or sneezing, before eating, and after being in public places or using a lavatory;
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, mouth; and
Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or into your elbow.
Basketball for men are Mondays and Wednesdays at the Mahopac High School Old Gym 7-9pm, $5 per session.
